Education is the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, acquisition of knowledge and experience as well as the development of skills, habits and attitudes which help a person to lead individual and social life. Education is a process of teaching, training, and learning, especially in schools or colleges, to improve knowledge and develop skills. It takes place under the guidance of educators, however learners can also educate themselves. Formal education is commonly divided into such stages as preschool or kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and then college, university, or apprenticeship.

Courses
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed): A two year teacher training program after completing graduation in any subject. The program is available in both regular and distance education mod.
D.El.Ed: D.A 2 year full time diploma course to train teachers for primary level teaching, ie, from class I to VIII. D.El.Ed stands for Diploma course in Elementary Education and covers the teaching methods of children between the ages 6 to 14. The 2 year curriculum is divided into 4 semesters and has been designed to enhance the educational qualities techniques and new teaching methods.D.El.Ed courses can be obtained through both regular as well as online mode.
Master of Education (M.Ed): A two year 9foue semester) master course after B.ed program.Which deals with the study of new methods of teaching and educational research.The course is offered in various subjects and specialisations. MEd is most apt for those looking to build a career in the field of teaching and academics.Candidates can pursue MEd in distance education and regular mode.
MA Education: A 2-year postgraduate course spread over 4 semesters, with the duration of the course varying across institutes. The eligibility for this course is bachelor’s degree in education or any related domain with securing minimum aggregate marks as required by the institute or university. MA Education course is offered via both regular and correspondence modes of education. It is a pedagogical course designed to impart to eligible candidates advanced lessons in theoretical and practical educational thought and processes. The course concludes with the submission of a research dissertation. MA Education and Master of Education are both different courses, with slightly alike course components.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria varies for courses:
- The basic eligibility criteria for B.ed course is Bachelor course in any discipline.
- For M.ed courses, it is B.ed in any discipline.
- For D.El.Ed candidates must qualify 10+2 from any recognized education board.
- The eligibility criteria for MA Education is Bachelors degree in any discipline .
Entrance Examination
For B.Ed programs, Central and state-level government universities conduct entrance exams seperately.. Also, many states conduct their own B.Ed Exams.
The admission process and selection criteria for M.Ed varies from university to university. While some universities/ colleges offer admission on the basis of merit determined through candidates’ marks in the qualifying exam (BEd/ BElEd/ BAEd/ BScEd/ MScEd), others conduct written entrance exams. M.Ed entrance exam pattern is such that candidates are usually tested on three parameters – Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Language Proficiency.
The D.El.Ed admission process is held annually by the respective state. Every state has its designated board or organisation that conducts D.EL.Ed admission and the notifications are released in the official websites by the concerned departments. Not all states conduct entrance exams for D.El.Ed admission.
Most institutes shortlist students for MA Education courses on the basis of their performance in a relevant entrance test. Some institutes conduct their own entrance tests for offering admission. Admission process may vary from college to college. Some institutes in the country also offer admission on the basis of the candidate’s obtained merit at the level of graduation.
